The first flight was wonderful. SO MUCH LEG ROOM. And the flight it's self was short. However, because that one flight was so wonderful, I knew the actual flight to Japan would make up for it and it did not disappoint.
I was pressed up against the seat in front of me for 13 hours. And I was smack dab in the middle of the middle row, so I was not pleased. My legs are killing me and probably will continue to ache for another day or two. I was so uncomfortable I never got to sleep on the flight for more than a few minutes here and there, so it was a real ordeal to me. The service was nice and the food was actually really good. All of our flight attendants looked like dolls. Very perfect looking.
When I got off, getting through immigration and customs was surprisingly easy. They barely asked me anything and then I was off to wait for the limobus (3000 Yen)
The bus came soon enough (I was there at four, came at 4:10). I was tired, so I ended up dozing off along the way. When we got to the hotel, the temple kids were there (and one was taking pictures for some ungodly reason). The taxi ride was pretty cool. I really got to see it since I was awake and at the window seat.
Arrived at the dorm around six. It's actually pretty alright. It came with actual blankets and the fridge, and I got the TVs before they were all gone. After placing my stuff in my room, I went to get some food!
About a block away are all these little shops. Food shops, convenience shops (7/11!), and things like that. Our train station is also in this area. We just went to a ramen place. It was something we knew how to order.
It was okay to me, but they seemed to really like it. I was just happy to get something to eat. After that, we stopped at 7/11 for a drink and headed home.
My only one real complaint is the showers. They're outrageously bad. First, you have to walk through the lounge/common area to get to them, and once you get to the girls' section, you just have to change right in there. I was more than a bit huffy, and it was really awkward for me, even though I was by myself. I already miss my shower.
Tomorrow (7:30AM for some reason) is the orientation. So I'm going to bed now.
